Well, I have lived in Maryland for almost 2 years now and my mom has never had the chance to visit me. But, now she has some extra vacation time, so her & my grandmother are packing their bags and coming to town!
They will probably come up on the 4th, so let me know of a good place to take them for fireworks.
Well, I think we let our opportunity to be reality TV stars pass us by. Yesterday Dan & I were approached by 2 casting directors who were looking for young newlyweds to audition for their gameshow/reality show. But due to our busy schedules we couldn’t audition. Guess we will have to wait to win the lottery to obtain fame & fortune.
Well, yesterday was Father’s Day. For years I never celebrated or enjoyed Father’s Day. It was never a day of joy and happiness in our house growing up. We hardly ever talked about it….more like “oh, it’s Father’s Day, I didn’t notice.” But that was a lie….we all knew it was coming. We had all thought about it in the weeks before. Imagined what it would be like to have someone to celebrate that day. Eventually our thoughts lead us to ponder on why we didn’t have someone to celebrate. It is strange how years of working on forgiving someone and trying to be healed are lost and forgotten on one holiday. I don’t want to bum anyone out….so I’ll stop now. But I just wanted to express some of my feelings…
We returned from our vacation last night and I already wish I was back at the beach. If you read Dan’s blog you know that we changed our vacation plans a little while we were down there. I wish we had gone through with our original plans. I had a good time at Williamsburg, but camping at the beach was one of the most enjoyable vacations I have ever had. The days we spent at the beach were amazing and very relaxing. The campground we stayed at was beautiful and so natural. It was a welcomed difference from the commericalized beaches of Ocean City & Myrtle Beach. Both Dan & I were in awe of the beauty…..especially at night when we could see stars. Cape Hatteras is definetly a place I hope to visit again.
Our little Monday night group is taking a little break….mostly b/c of our vacation and Joy’s fireworks stand. But anyway….maybe this break will encourage Dan & me to actually go introduce ourselves to our neighbors and have a little get together.
A week from now we will be setting up our new (huge) tent at the beach. I am really looking forward to our vacation. We don’t really have anything planned other than relaxing, and we are very happy about that!
