Dan & I are reading StormFront together. I’m sure we’ll both write about it once we have finished it, but I wanted to share this now. This quote came from a section discussing the work of the Holy Spirit.

The emphasis that the Spirit is given to all carries with it two corollaries: First, there are no privileged few who have greater access to God than others - no preistly class, no clerical elite. The reign of God is not mediated to the masses through a few; it is rather a form of life in which all participate equally, a transformative power that is available to all without distinction or discrimination. Secondly, the Spirit is given out to the entire community and not merely to individuals. Or to put it differently, the Spirit empowers a shared, communal form of life, in which individuals participate. The Spirit is not my personal means to holiness; the Spirit is rather the agent through whom a shared form of life comes into being.
