To be Replenished

Posted by alicia on Feb 26, 2006 in Life

I feel dead, or like I’m in a coma, and life is passing by without my knowledge.

Days come and go, weeks end as quickly as they begin and I have no idea that it is happening.

I feel like I’m always sleeping, yet I’m still exhausted.

It’s not that I’m spending too much energy, the problem is that I don’t have anything that is replenishing me.

Everything takes, Nothing gives back.

I need to find a place where I can recover and be replenished.

I need to find a way to relax and let my soul be re-energized.

I’m so fatigued that I can’t focus on where I am, where I’m going, who I am, who I’m suppose to be…..

Thank God that spring is coming! Soon Creation will work her magic and stir up life inside me. I desperately await your coming….

Update on life

Posted by alicia on Feb 25, 2006 in Life

Our pregnant stray cat, Pip, had her babies this week. We honestly thought she wouldn’t have them for another month, guess we are not as knowledgeable about feline pregnancy as we thought. We were hoping to take her to SPCA where she could have the kittens in a safe envirnoment, however, from what we can tell she had the kittens in an abandoned house across the street. We followed her there today, but couldn’t get in or see anything. I really want to know how many kittens she had and I want to see them. Hopefully they are all alright.

Work is has been ok lately. I was really stupid and scheduled appointments for today and tomorrow, meaning that I do not have a day off until next Saturday. Not wise. I hope I last till then.

I just recently found out that Fawn & Roger decided on names for the twins: Kaydence Elaine & Kennedy Renee. I like the names, they have uniqueness as well as carrying on some family tradition.

When I sat down to blog I had a whole list of things I wanted to write about, but that is all I can remember. Oh well.

International Women’s Day

Posted by alicia on Feb 20, 2006 in Life

I am very inspired by this post on Rachelle’s blog. Hope it inspires you too.

I live in a city where a mega church pastor repeatedly instructs his young congregation to see women as subservient to men…

I practice a religion where systemic dysfunction keeps many women from being who they were truly meant to be….

I dwell on a globe where women and girls are systematically raped and murdered in order to allow the violent and the powerful to be more violent and more powerful…

“If I had a hammer, I would smash patriarchy.

Blah.

Posted by alicia on Feb 19, 2006 in Life

There hasn’t been much blogging going on in the Farrell house. Guess we’re going through a dry spell or our lives are really boring and we have nothing to blog about.

My job is going well. I’ve met a lot of interesting people over the past couple of weeks, some of whom I have enjoyed and others who sucked too much energy out of me. With my job I meet several new people each week. At times that is very exciting, but most of the time it drains me and leaves me desiring just a few deep, initmate friendships.

Dan’s parents came to visit us on their way to Williamsburg. It was good to see them. On Friday we went out to dinner at Ipanema. We all loved it! The food was great and I really enjoyed the feel of the resturant. I definitely recommend it, especially to vegetarians.

Tonight Dan & I are going to a dinner party that one of my co-workers hosting. Hopefully we will have a good time. I really enjoy some of the people I work with and would like to get to know them more and have them see me wear something other than my uniform.

Will you be my Valentine?

Posted by alicia on Feb 6, 2006 in Life

While trying to figure out what to do for Valentines, Dan & I decided that we want to have a dinner party and share the night with our friends. So, if you’re looking for something to do, come on over.

Dinner will start around 7:00. We will provide soup & salad and open it up for others to share their favorite foods (i.e. potluck).

The Weekend!!!

Posted by alicia on Feb 4, 2006 in Life

It’s the weekend!!! Yeah! I get to sleep in.

Plus, the SuperBowl is tomorrow. I’m excited about the game, but slightly depressed because it means the season is over. Hopefully February will go by fast and March Madness will be here before we know it.
