Weekend
Here are pictures of a couple things I did this weekend.

I made some earrings. The actual earrings look a lot better than these pictures.

A lot of big things have happened with my job recently. On Friday I was offered (and accepted) a promotion to become the Personal Training Director for my gym and another location operated by the same owner. This is the type of job that I was hoping to find when we first moved to Richmond. I am very excited about the promotion and I hope a change in responsibilities will keep me from burning out so quickly. What excites me most about this job is the opportunity to mentor new trainers and to take the personal training department to the next level. Also work related, I am on the verge of breaking the personal training sales record for this month. Tomorrow is the last day of the month and if a certain client pre-pays for her sessions then I will break the record. I don’t know if I will get a bonus like the last guy to break the record, but it would be nice to own that title before moving into my new position.
Update: I broke the record!!! ![]()
I’m looking for some good summer reads. Any ideas or favorites???
It’s been a very exhausting week. I am looking forward to the weekend and lots of naps with cats.
My weekend at home alone ended as Dan returned this afternoon. Though I missed him, I did enjoy my alone time. I was able to finish The Fountainhead, organize our walk-in closet, watch my favorite movie that he doesn’t like, workout EVERYDAY, stay up late, prepare some things for work, and most importantly….sleep in the middle of the bed. I forget how beneficial solitude can be for me. Not only to have the chance to get things done, but to be able to be silent……to just be.
Currently I am reading The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. I tried to read this once in high school and didn’t make it through, so I’m trying again and I love it. I feel like I’m addicted to it. If I am able to put it down, then it becomes all that I can think about. I hope to finish it this weekend. Anyone else read it & enjoyed it?
Today I got an outdoor fireplace on clearance. Ah….so nice.
Today Dan & I got up,
dressed up,
drove across town,
shook hands with strangers,
watched a beerble guy get baptized,
stood and sang songs with strangers,
listened to a man we don’t know speak about kindness,
bowed our heads and closed our eyes.
Yep, we went to church.
On the way home we got new sunglasses.
I saw this today and wanted to share:

Today my brother left. He had been visiting us since Saturday, along with Dan’s brother, Mike. We had a lot of fun, food, and beer while playing games and doing yard work. The guys were so helpful. The fence is nearly complete, so, soon we will be having a party to celebrate.
Hope everyond had a nice holiday. After watching Dan & Jarrett put up the fence in extreme heat, we all went to a neighbor’s for a cookout. The cookout was fun, we got to meet new people and see a beautiful house part-way through it’s renovation. This whole weekend/week has been fun and relaxing for me. I haven’t worked much and it feels good. Am I lazy?!? Oh well, I’ll make up for it next week.
Because I haven’t worked much this week I’ve had a lot of time to think about career/school stuff. The more I think about my future, the more I get confused. The only clear thought in my head is that I should not be a guidance counselor, I would be horrible at it.
