I stumbled upon this quote and wanted to share:
Be patient towards all that is unsolved in your heart and dreams, try to love the questions themselves.
- Rainer Maria Rilke
The weekend was full of variety. I worked a little late for the typical Friday and then stayed to get in a good workout. Friday was a really good, relaxing day at work. At both gyms I share an office with other co-workers. On Friday I was the only one working of my office-mates working and I was able to cross off everything on my to-do list. Then I rushed home so Dan & I could prepare for our weekend guests, Mike & Brad. When the guys arrived we caught up with each other by going to the Bottom for a beer at Rosie O’Connolly’s.
Saturday was the Richmond marathon. I spent so much time on Friday reminding everyone at the gym about the marathon and the street closures. Then on Saturday I spent plenty of time reviewing the information about the street closures and planning my route to the gym. But all my planning was in vain because I still ran into street closures and had to park several blocks from the gym. After I finally got home the guys & I went out for coffee and lunch at some of our favorite spots in Church Hill. I spent the rest of the afternoon making a pair of earrings and doing some shopping. Then we got all dressed up for Carol Anne’s birthday party which included dinner and dancing!! Dan & I aren’t really dancing people but we had fun with it. It was the most fun I’ve had in a long time. I had almost as much fun as all the ladies dancing with Mike & Brad…..
Today we all slept in before going to Jumpin’ J’s for breakfast. Mike & Brad left shortly after breakfast. Dan & I have spent the rest of the day relaxing. I knitted some while listening to one of my favorite NPR programs. After a much needed nap I continued knitting while watching football and soccer. It has felt so good to be creative with some knitting and jewelry making this weekend. To me knitting is always a great way to end the weekend because I get to be creative, it is therapeutic, and l can do it while reflecting on the weekend.
Here are the cutest Trick-or-Treaters I have ever seen.
