Friday: Worked an hour & 1/2 past the time I wanted to leave and still didn’t get all my work done. Came home to pick up Dan before heading to Dick’s. Got a new tennis racket. Tried to play tennis, but the one decent court in our neighborhood was being used. Showered, watched bball, went to Acappella for late night drinks & snacks. Came home & went to bed.
Saturday: Woke up, cleaned house for a bit, met friends to volunteer at the Irish Festival. Helped served beer to hundreds of people at the festival! Had a blast and got a little sunburned. Enjoyed free beer at festival. Got a Pumpkin Pie scone from Buzzy’s and stumbled home. Napped and watched more bball.
Sunday: Skipped church. Had breakfast at J’s. Went to Home Depot and work. Cleaned out front flower bed (which is now ready for beautiful flowers). Had some friends stop by. Cleaned inside of house. Had more friends stop by for beer & cookies. Rested. Blogged. Now thinking of going to bed early.
Pip’s hot pink bandage is too cute for words.

It was quite the typical Farrell weekend. I started my weekend with a kick-butt workout on Friday. I love my Friday after-work workouts! It is a great way for me to wind down and reflect on the past week. After pumping iron, I rushed home so that we could go out to dinner with Alisha & Casey. Our plan was to have dinner at Relish and then head over to First Fridays. In reality, we arrived at Relish 5 minutes after they closed, so we walked around the corner and had a yummy dinner at Sumo San. After stuffing ourselves we realized it was too late to hit up First Fridays, so we stopped by the store for wine & chocolate and came back home to hang out with our friends. Dan & I have a lot of fun hanging out with Alisha & Casey. They are cool people, but also, they are newly engaged. Meaning, we get to hear about some of those hilarious moments that happen when 2 people merge and we also get to share some of our stories about that time in our lives.
On Saturday we slept in some and piddled around the house. We both had to work a little bit, and I worked out even less, then we ate dinner out at the Hill Cafe. After dinner we spent some time talking about Going Green. Brent, from The Well, had asked us to share some of our thoughts on going green and kingdom living, so we thought it would be wise to talk it out some ourselves. It was such a neat conversation. It was a moment where I looked back at my upbringing with gratitude. My desire to go green stems from growing up in a small town that is nestled in the mountains and along the New River and how living there developed my thoughts on the environment. I vividly remember that as a small child I realized there was something sacred about the mountains and the river. I knew that God was there. I knew I could find peace and life in mountains and river. This is probably one of the first truths I discovered as child and I really enjoyed reflecting on it and how shapes my actions today.
On Sunday we went to The Well, which, I am really enjoying. The past couple of weeks have felt relaxing, like visiting with friends. Our discussions from the past couple of weeks have really fit in with my personal thoughts on Lent this year. After church we grabbed lunch at Elwoods and worked out at the Fan before coming home to relax. I spent some time crafting, doing laundry, and preparing for the coming work week. It was a nice attempt at relaxation. Due to Birthday Month and other events it was probably my only relaxing weekend at home this month.
Not only is March Birthday Day Month, it is also National Craft Month!!! I am so excited I don’t know what to do! I feel like I’m about to explode! Honestly, there couldn’t be a better month than March for crafting. Spring is coming and that always re-energizes me and feeds my creative spirit. Here are some links that I found about crafting, enjoy!

and of course, where I learned about National Craft Month….
