5 Lingerie Brands You Need To Discover Before Valentine’s Day!

Are you tired of Victoria’s Secret and are looking for new lingerie? This blog post is for you!

Peter Philips, the creative and image director of Dior Makeup, once compared wearing lipstick underneath a mask to wearing lingerie: “It’s like wearing nice underwear or satin lingerie. No one will see your lipstick under a mask, but you do it for yourself, and it makes you feel different.” I love lingerie because it makes me feel powerful and as if I can conquer anything that gets thrown my way. I think talking about lingerie can sometimes feel a little taboo because it still has a strong image as something to be worn for someone else. Ask many women and you may find out that wearing lingerie is more about how it makes them feel rather than wearing it for show. Lingerie makes people feel special when they wear it, even if it is just for one night. Lingerie is magical year-round, but with Valentine’s Day around the corner, what better time to celebrate it.

Victoria’s Secret is a well-known brand for lingerie and is a brand people often turn to when buying their first pieces. This blog post features five lingerie brands that you need to check out if you are searching for lingerie and are tired of Victoria’s Secret or just want to see what else is out there.

Dora Larsen is a British brand created in 2016 by an ex-lingerie buyer, Georgia Larsen. The brand focuses on colorful lingerie made of lace and sheer fabrics. The brand uses lace that is made from recycled yarns that are GRS approved. Dora Larsen releases limited quantities of its lingerie to ensure that there is no wastage at the end of the season/collection. If there are leftover pieces from a collection the brand either sells them at a sample sale or donates them to Smalls For All rather than dumping them in a landfill.

Fleur du Mal is a luxury lingerie brand founded in 2012 by an ex-lingerie designer for Victoria’s Secret. Jennifer Zuccarini founded the brand which “explores the notion of desire and artful provocation while maintaining style and wearability.” The brand has beautiful pieces that are inspired “by women who are powerful, chic, and celebrate their femininity and sexuality.” Fleur du Mal is the perfect place to splurge on yourself.

Lonely Label is a clothing/lingerie brand that focuses on maintaining ethical standards in manufacturing and minimizing its impact on the earth. The brand is a little hippie/flower-child-esque and reminds me of lingerie you might find at a store like Free People.

Arakas is a sustainable lingerie brand intended to provide women with little luxuries they can enjoy on a daily basis.

Savage X Fenty is Rihanna’s lingerie brand that celebrates fearlessness, confidence, and inclusivity. The brand features inexpensive lingerie for men and women. The brand has its own monthly subscription program “Xtra Savage VIP” where customers pay a monthly fee giving them access to special offers, free shipping/returns, and sales.
