Love is Blind Season 2 Has Reawakened My Love of Wedding Dresses

Netflix has once again sucked me into watching one of its shows: Love is Blind season two. Once I got past the initial shock that the contestants were engaged after a few days of talking to each other between a wall, the show started to get a little better. My favorite part of the show is episode eight, where the women go wedding dress shopping. By episode eight, I felt connected to the contestants and singled out my favorite couples. Almost everyone shed happy tears while trying on wedding dresses and I could really feel the emotions through the screen. This made me think about the significance that wedding dresses carry. For some women, trying on wedding dresses and finding your perfect dress makes getting married finally feel real instead of something intangible that will happen in the future. It was inspiring to watch the women try on a dress and immediately know it was for them. This is a feeling I hope to have one day when I am shopping for my wedding dress.

I grew up watching the show Say Yes to the Dress on TLC, and it was one of my favorite reality TV shows as a young teenager. I do not know if it was because of this show, or if it is my underlying love of fashion, but I have always loved wedding dresses. I have spent hours on Pinterest looking at wedding dresses and have even imagined what my future wedding dress may look like. I have also pondered the sustainability of wedding dresses. Most wedding dresses are only worn once and then are either stored, sold, or donated. Some wedding dresses are mass-produced while others are made to order. When I was younger, the idea of wearing a pre-loved or passed-down wedding dress was not appealing. However, the more I learn about sustainability the more I like the idea of taking an old wedding dress and altering it into something new. I think wearing a wedding dress that has already been worn must also carry the memories of the woman who was previously married in it.

Love is Blind Season 2 Wedding Dresses

Five women were engaged at the end of the show, and these are the dresses that they wore down the aisle. I think each dress fits the personalities of each woman, and it’s interesting to see which styles are popular. When Say Yes to the Dress was in its peak popularity, I remember every bride wanted a strapless, mermaid dress with a sweetheart neckline. I like how every woman on the show Love is Blind chose a different style of wedding dress.

I like all the buttons. A girl can rethink what is about to happen as she buttons her wedding dress.

I learned when I was planning my wedding dress that the back of the dress is very important since you have your back to your guests for some time during the ceremony. These you show in the pictures are beautiful!
