Gift Guide For The Sustainable Fashionista In Your Life

As the holidays are approaching you may find yourself asking what gift to give the sustainable fashionista in your life. This post gives you five great gift ideas for this holiday season.

1. Fashion Magazine Subscription

A fashion magazine is a great gift to give a fashionista! You do not have to worry about whether your gift will fit someones’ specific style because a magazine is always changing (and your recipient won’t be wearing it). A magazine subscription is a gift that keeps on giving all year long, at a very reasonable price! My favorite sustainable fashion magazine is LUXIDERS. My two other favorite fashion magazines are InStyle and Harper’s Bazar. These magazines have more relatable articles compared to Vogue which focuses on haute couture. If your fashionista is also into business and the behind the scenes of the fashion industry then they will enjoy Business of Fashion.

2. Cute Sustainable Socks

Socks are another great gift for your fellow fashionista! Socks are usually overlooked, but they are very important. Nothing is better than the feeling of putting on brand new socks. Teddy Locks is a great sustainable sock brand. Its entire supply chain is based in North Carolina and is made up of small businesses. All of their socks are made from recycled water bottles! Another great sustainable sock brand is Conscious Step. Conscious Step is transparent about the factories it partners with to manufacture its socks and the materials used. Conscious Step offers a subscription service where you can gift someone a monthly sock subscription and each month money is donated towards a different cause. Conscious Step has socks that correspond to different causes such as rainforest conservation, protection for endangered animals, and support for restoring oceans.

3. Rechargeable Lint/Pill Remover

A rechargeable lint/pill remover is a great gift for anyone who wants to increase the lifespan of their clothing. A bonus is that this tool works great on blankets, bedsheets, and upholstery too! There are many of these on the market, but here is an example made by True&Tidy. I have never tried using this tool myself, but online videos show the tool working like magic to remove lint and pilling from fabric. This rechargeable tool is a sustainable item that can replace any single-use, sticky lint roller.

4. Sustainable PJs

Nothing screams fashionista more than wearing a matching pajama set to bed. Giving the gift of matching pajamas falls into the same category as new socks. It’s a clothing piece that is often overlooked, but when you get new pajamas (especially a matching set), it immediately elevates your nighttime sleep. Boody is a sustainable brand that uses organic bamboo rayon for its clothes. Bamboo fabric is ultra soft and breathable making it perfect for pajamas. My favorite style of pajamas are shorts with a tee. I recommend staying away from button down shirts as the buttons can be uncomfortable if you are a stomach sleeper. Evewear is another sustainable brand that has fun and flirty pajamas. These pajamas are perfect if you are getting a gift for someone young and playful. All of Evewear’s pajamas are made from 100% cotton deadstock which diverts tons of cotton from landfills every year!

5. Gift Card/ Pass to the Drycleaners

This is a perfect gift to give someone if you know they have a lot of expensive clothing pieces or clothes that need to be dry-cleaned. A lot of people push off dry-cleaning their items because of the price tag of the service. This is a great practical gift that not many think of but would be greatly appreciated.

Happy Holidays and happy gifting!!
