What You Need To Know About Sustainable Fashion Brand Noumenon

Noumenon is a sustainable fashion brand based in Amsterdam that follows the saying “less is more” and works to design “seasonless” fashion pieces. The brand is trying to break out of the fashion industry’s fast-fashion craze and create clothes that can be worn at any time of the year, and for many years to come. Noumenon was founded in 2016 by Dena Simaite and was created to produce ethically made, cruelty-free clothes that are also cute! The clothes are made from linen, organic cotton, cupro, Tencel (recycled wood pulp), and repurposed fabrics. In order to decrease the company’s carbon footprint, all clothes are made in Europe and 100% of orders placed in Amsterdam are delivered in recycled packaging by an electric car. 

One of my favorite parts of Noumenon is their Couch to Coat collection where they recycle materials from unwanted couches to create jackets. Using old couch materials creates a very unique jacket from fabric that no one else has! An added bonus is that all of their jackets are currently on sale and are perfect for this fall/winter season. Another honorable mention from the brand is their bags. Little purses are back in style and Noumenon offers a range of vegan options. Small bags are perfect to carry just your essentials when you are running out the door and are perfect for a night out! Here are some of my favorites:

An unusual design by Noumenon is their Bloom Reversible Blouse. The blouse is white on one side and lilac on the other. I don’t know how practical this top is, or how often you would reverse the sides, but it was a unique idea so I thought I would include it in this brand spotlight. I suppose that if you ever stained one side of the shirt you would be able to reverse it and keep wearing the clean side in front. 

The Couch-to-Coat initiative is the highlight of the brand however the little bags are a close second and the reversible top was a creatively designed piece. If you are looking for a new jacket this season that will be a conversation starter look no further than Noumenon.
