Winter Gloves: The Ultimate Underdog Accessory

Winter gloves are great to wear in the winter and they can also help you transition your wardrobe from winter to spring. I used to be a hands-in-your-pockets kind of girl, but this winter I have embraced the glove lifestyle. Typically, I have always had cold hands, even when the rest of my body is warm. In the new year I have been going for daily walks around London and always struggle with what to wear. When I am walking, my body is always warm but my fingers are frozen. Hence, the adoption of gloves. My go-to gloves are black faux suede with faux fur trim detailing. These gloves have special detailing on the fingers to make them “tech friendly”. Over the past few months I have learned that what really makes gloves “tech friendly” is having the detailing on the thumbs. I usually scroll and type with my thumbs, so it feels odd using my index finger while wearing gloves. This blog post is a collection of the trendiest gloves of the season.

Faux Fur Trimmed

Faux fur trimmed items have been popular for the past few years, and this year is no exception. You can easily find faux fur trimmed gloves at many retailers. These are personally my favourite type of gloves because the fur dresses up any outfit. The gloves pictured furthest to the left are unique because you can wear them with the fur showing or unfold them for a sleeker look.

Leather With Cuff Detailing

Typically, leather gloves do not make your hands sweat so they are good to wear when transitioning from winter to spring temperatures. The simplistic cuff detailing, pictured below, spices up gloves without being as flashy as a faux fur.

Tech Gloves

Many gloves have finger detailing to help with smartphone usage. However what really matters is detailing on the thumb! The Uniqlo gloves, pictured below, will keep your fingers super warm and allow you to use your smartphone with your thumbs. I am also mentioning fingerless gloves in this blog post because I noticed many brands currently stock fingerless gloves/wrist warmers so they must be popular. I like these super cute green ones from sustainable brand, Jakke.
