Shopping

Coal Drop Yards is home to mass retailers such as A.P.C., American Vintage, Ba&sh, and COS but the best stores are independent retailers. I recommend going into Wolf & Badger, Maya Magal, and Twiin for all your fashion and accessory needs. The Coal Drops Yard website has a few published articles about current retailers and is a fun way to learn more about local London brands. I enjoyed reading an interview with the female founders of the London-based lingerie brand Beija, Abbie and Mazie. You can read the current articles here. Coal Drops Yard also has a great selection of unique homeware or fun gifts for friends and family.

The Area + What’s On

You can shop anywhere in London, but the architecture, surrounding area, constant rotation of exhibits and weekend markets make Coal Drops Yard special and inviting. Currently, there is an ‘Extraordinary Style Exhibition’ which features photography showcasing local King’s Cross streetwear. Newly added today is the Tschabalala self-sculpture installation (pictured above) which you can view until January 2023. If you visit Coal Drops Yard before October 16th, make sure to check out the Avant Arte pop-up where you can find more bronze sculptures and silkscreen prints from the same artist. During the weekend, you can find outdoor markets which sell food, drinks, ceramics, homeware, etc. Right next to Coal Drops Yard are the Canal Side Green Steps which is next to Regent’s Canal and is the perfect place to rest your legs and people watch.
